Light Requirements
Bright, Indirect Light: Place your plant near a north- or east-facing window, or a bright indoor spot where it gets a wide view of the sky.
Maintain Variegation: Bright light helps preserve the intense pink and purple coloring; low light will cause the leaves to fade to mostly green or become leggy.
Avoid Scorching: Direct, harsh midday sun can burn or bleach the delicate leaves, though a gentle amount of early morning direct sun can boost variegation if slowly acclimated
Watering
When to Water: Allow the top 1 to 2 inches of soil (or roughly half the pot) to dry out completely between waterings.
Prevent Root Rot: This plant is sensitive to soggy soil. Always use a pot with drainage holes and avoid letting the plant sit in standing water.
Foliage Care: Avoid misting the leaves directly, as trapped moisture on the foliage can lead to fungal issues and rot.
Soil and Potting
Well-Draining Mix: Use a quality houseplant potting mix blended with extra perlite, orchid bark, or a cactus/succulent blend to ensure quick drainage. A recommended mix includes components like succulent soil, perlite, and coco chips or bark.
Temperature and Humidity
Temperature: Keep the plant in a warm environment between 60°F and 80°F (15°C–27°C). Protect it from cold drafts or sudden temperature swings from air conditioners and heaters.
Humidity: Average household humidity is usually fine, though it appreciates elevated humidity via a humidifier or pebble tray if your air is very dry.
